Happy Fall y'all! Fall has nearly come and gone, but before Christmas completely takes over, I wanted to share some highlights from my Friendsgiving. The company, food, and decor were amazing and made the evening that much better. I want to give you all some ideas from my Friendsgiving recap ft. gluten-free dishes that you could apply to your own Thanksgiving celebration.

Food
My mom was so sweet to host my family and friends and she made nearly all the food the day of! A few days prior, I learned that I have celiac disease, which means I can't eat gluten. My mom was amazing and made so many gluten-free dishes and they tasted no different than gluten-filled classics.

Meat
We aren't a turkey family, so instead we did chicken and ham. We seasoned the chicken with some spices and baked them in the oven. The ham was cooked in the oven and we simply added the pack of spices it came with.

Veggies
Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Green Beans, & Peas were our veggies of choice for the night. The green beans were simply cooked in a skillet and we added bacon. The peas were basic and left as is. Click here for my brussels sprout recipe. I made these based on a Pinterest fall recipe and they turned out so good! They were eaten up and gone before any other dish. To get sweet carrots, you can cook them on a cookie sheet in the oven with some olive oil and some brown sugar and they come out tasting too sweet to count as a vegetable.

Potatoes
We always make sweet potato casserole with mashed sweet potatoes and a brown sugar and pecan crumble on top. We also make the classic mashed potatoes and gravy, but my mom made a gluten free gravy that was so good (and no one else could tell it was gf). We took the leftover drippings from the chicken platter and added gluten free flour and some water to thin it out and mixed this in a pan until the lumps were dissolved and it turned out to be delicious!

Stuffing
My sweet mom bought the gluten-free stuffing mix from Trader Joe's and it tasted almost the same as regular stuffing. I am usually not a huge stuffing fan to begin with, but I tried it for the fun of it and it turned out really delicious.

Dessert
We had multiple dessert options, but these were devoured before I could get pictures! My favorite was a gluten-free and dairy-free pumpkin pie which you can find the recipe for here.
Decor
We had two tables set up because of the amount of people we hosted and my mom decorated the tables beautifully! She incorporated different fall colors to tie each table's individual items together, making for beautiful
table settings.

Thank you for reading and I'd love to hear about your Thanksgiving traditions, dishes, and decor below. Leave a comment and tell me something you love about Thanksgiving!
