First off, I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday and helped me celebrate. Y'all made me feel so special and it was so nice to feel so loved this entire week!

Before I go into my birthday celebration recap, let me just say that turning 21 has been an eventful experience. I got sick the night before and ended up spending the night in the ER because they thought I had appendicitis. (Turns out I am totally fine and don't need to get my appendix removed.) After sleeping through most of my birthday on Thursday and recovering most of Friday, I was thankful to have the weekend to celebrate my birthday with people I love and have a delicious first and second meal back in normal society.

I celebrated my birthday and used my ID for the first time at the Mimosa Bar at Sixty Vines in Uptown, Dallas. The restaurant atmosphere made for such a fun and bright birthday celebration that allowed for good food and perfect lighting for pictures.

They offer $20 carafes for their Mimosa Bar that features all different juices, syrups, and fruits to create your own personalized brunch cocktail.

I added mango juice, grapefruit slices, and some peach juice to mine and it was delicious! Also, please look at beautiful these center pieces are. Sixty Vines let us decorate the table and my mom made these beautiful flower arrangements for brunch.

Sixty Vines is known for their pizza and pasta, but at brunch they have all the classic egg dishes, toasts, and bread products you'd expect to eat for breakfast. They also have gluten free pita bread, rolls, pasta, and pizza crust, which allows them to modify practically any menu item to a gluten allergy! (This fact alone is a reason I will be returning to Sixty Vines soon.) Please just look at the amazing food below and try not to get hungry...

After brunch I went back home to catch up on some homework and a few hours later, headed over to Victory Park to enjoy another birthday celebration at Mesero. If you've been following me for a while you'll know this place is one of my favorite spots for Mexican food. I got my favorite (Carne Asada) along with a Mojito and a LOT of chips with guac and salsa.

My friends enjoyed soup and a quesadilla and some other delicious drinks from the menu, including the La Chingona (montelobos mezcal, cointreau, ancho reyes, citrus, and chile morita).

Mesero truly wowed me at the end of the night when they brought me out a dessert that they made in the kitchen on the fly when they learned I was gluten free. They brought me out a fruit bowl with a delicious snickerdoodle flavored dipping sauce and had the waiters sing to me for my birthday. I was so touched that they took the time to find a birthday dessert for me that wasn't on the menu!

Whether you're looking to celebrate a birthday in the near future or just want a fun restaurant to spend some time during the holidays, I highly recommend trying Sixty Vines and Mesero. Head to Sixty Vines for a bright and fun brunching vibe, or dine at Mesero for a night in downtown with your girlfriends.

I know this was a long read, but thank you again for all the birthday love and thanks for reading!
